Experimental Printmaking in Italy

Join Peg Morris for a week of Experimental Printmaking in Italy!

Cancelled due to the pandemic
Please contact Peg if you may be interested in a future course

A wonderful week exploring experimental printmaking techniques in the stunning surroundings of the foothills of the Appennine Mountains. Your accommodation will be in the beautiful Villa Lugara with panoramic views across the Secchia river valley.  We will work in the surrounding countryside and towns and also in the beautifully converted stables where each participant will have their own studio space.

About the course

During this workshop, we will go out on drawing excursions to the stunning local towns and to the beautiful countryside surrounding Villa Lugara to gather inspiration and materials.  All locations are within a short drive of the studio (transportation will be provided by our hosts Fiona and Steve) and can be adapted according the weather conditions.  We will explore a range of printmaking techniques including drypoint, relief printing, collagraphs and monotypes, building on and combining techniques as the week progresses.  Participants will have the opportunity to develop their work and ideas further in the studio. The delicious cuisine provided at Villa Lugara and the opportunity to talk about your work and share ideas with your fellow participants in the studio, over dinner or by the pool will complete the week and you will return home with lots of ideas to take your work further.

No previous printmaking experience is necessary, although an interest in drawing and painting is essential.  All materials will be included, although you may have preferred drawing materials which you would like to bring with you for when we are out sketching.
