Tetrapak Printmaking
One day Workshop at Ochre Print Studio

A one-day workshop exploring the possibilities of printmaking using this versatile and readily available material to make intaglio plates. Participants will explore the mark-making possibilities through scoring, cutting and peeling the plates to create textured plates with variations in line and tone. You will be shown how to ink, wipe and print your plates using an etching press. There will be time to explore different inking printing techniques including Chine-collé. This sustainable process allows the freedom to play and experiment to produce exciting compositions and images.
Beginners welcome as are those with printmaking experience who would like to explore a new technique. This workshop would also suit teachers who have access to a press and are looking for practical printmaking methods to use with their students. Students are encouraged to bring some source materials such as photographs or drawings to work from.

| Introduction to Etching on Copper Two day Workshops at my studio in Gomshall Dates tbc – contact me for details of the next workshop 10:30am-5pm Cost £195 including all materials The weekend workshops provide a taster introduction to etching and will run over two days 10am-5pm both days and will be limited to a maximum of 3 places. The weekend workshops cost £195 (per weekend) including basic materials, light refreshments (but not including lunch). This workshop is suitable for beginners and those returning to etching after a break. You don’t need previous experience of etching to enjoy the workshop, but you do need to have some experience in drawing or design and a good understanding of the concepts of line and tone. We will work on copper plates using ferric chloride. You will be introduced to the basic skills involved in etching, including plate preparation, hard and soft ground, aquatint, inking and printing.
